You are most likely a really great person!
We are all just trying to do life, this life, the best that we can with what we have been given. We are each doing our best with what we choose to embrace, what we choose to create and to the space that we allow ourselves to journey. None of us are trying to fail and very few people, none that I know, are trying to lead anyone astray.
We are all doing our best!
We have different ways of getting there with different tools and techniques and pasts but aren’t we all trying?
Ok, maybe some are stalled by desperation and despair but then don’t we do our best to get out of that? We try at whatever moments we find ourselves in with the best that we have.
It’s frustrating to see someone struggle especially those close to us and especially when it seems so clear what their next step could be from our vantage point. It’s easy to think, “they could be doing better.” but may I propose that just maybe they are doing the best they can at that moment. I think that is our human experience. We do our best even when it doesn’t necessarily look like it to others.
Can we start to look at each other differently? Can we start to realize that we are good, that we are made good and are trying to capture the best form of goodness that we can? If you think this might be true and if you think that we could look at each other this way do you think that our human experience might change towards both others and ourselves? Can we see beauty in all of those around us and in the process to discovering our next moment of beauty? Might we be able to recognize a delight that has maybe never or seldom before been acknowledged? Would our judgement, hate, annoyance go down? Would our beauty, wonder and joy escalate? Can life look better if we just trained our eyes, our mind, our heart?
It is my own personal challenge each day that when I wake up I might see the greatness in myself, my family, my coworkers, my customers and each person I see throughout my day. Even in the cranky moments. Even in the times that need patience. Even when I’ve messed up. Even when…
So today I choose joy. I choose love. I choose to believe in the human journey towards beauty.
May you also experience for yourself and extend to others the grace of human experience.
Peace,
